The Wayfaring Stranger, ein amerikanischer Gospel-Song wurde vor allem durch den legendären Johnny Cash bekannt. Matthias Joos hat diesen Volksong für kleine Besetzung (Schwierigkeitsgrad 3) bearbeitet. Nach einer getragenen Einleitung übernimmt das Solo-Bariton, bevor im Reggae-Rhythmus die Solistin oder der Solist improvisionierend auftritt. Dieses Impro-Solo ist ausnotiert, kann aber gerne durch eine eigene Darbietung bereichert werden.

Mit der Herzraub Polka gibt Florian Scherbl, Dirigent der Blaskapelle Weiding sein Debüt im melicus.musikverlag. Gemeinsam mit dem jungen Komponisten und Arrangeur Konstantin Stahl entstand diese Polka mit Gesang. Der Text stammt vom Komponisten selbst. Das Werk im Grad 3 ist eingängig und kommt ohne komplizierte Passagen aus.

Mit dem Academicus Konzertmarsch gibt der junge und sympathische mittelfränkische Komponist Felix Matczak sein Debüt im melicus.musikverlag. Felix war Teilnehmer der melicus.akademie und lernte dort, wie er Melodien selbstständig für großes Blasorchester arrangiert.
Der Marsch beginnt mit einem ruhigeren ersten Teil, der ohne große Aufregung in ein mächtiges Basssolo mündet. Im Trio dominiert eine liebliche und melancholische Melodie, die abwechselnd von Tenorhorn und Bariton wie den Flügelhörnern gespielt wird. Ein kurzer, aber ein deutlich Spannung erzeugender vierter Teil leitet zum großen Finale über, bei dem das Thema des Trios erneut erklingt.
